FASTING CURE BY WECKBECKER
IT´S TIME TO RETHINK HEALTH!
Imagine if there was a treatment concept that not only considered you as a person in your entirety, but also treated your complaints holistically and interdisciplinary. And thus help you to lead a healthier and more energised life. This is exactly what Weckbecker's holistic therapeutic fasting is.
Diseases of civilisation such as exhaustion syndromes, cardiovascular complaints or back and joint problems are part of everyday life for many people. Different complaints often exist at the same time and influence each other. Instead of treating such symptoms in an interdisciplinary manner, i.e. across different disciplines, most treatment approaches still focus on individual symptoms. We believe that it is time to rethink health - with holistic treatment concepts that treat complaints in an interdisciplinary way. Our unique four-pillar concept according to Dr. Erich von Weckbecker pursues precisely this approach. Therapeutic fasting and a change in diet in combination with Kneipp treatments, manual therapies, movement and relaxation therapy as well as counselling have a simultaneous effect on various clinical pictures and also on mental health.
DR. MED. ERICH VON WECKBECKER (1920 – 2005)
INTERNAL MEDICINE DOCTOR, FASTING PIONEER AND CLINIC FOUNDER
‘I had once studied the doctrine of diseases and their treatment in depth.
What I was missing was the doctrine of health and its preservation.’
As a young doctor suffering from kidney disease and having given up on clinical medicine, Erich von Weckbecker searches for his own way to heal. In a ‘self-experiment’, he was the first to combine Buchinger´s therapeutic fasting with Kneipp therapy - and was cured. From then on, he was passionate about classical naturopathy. Inspired by Otto Buchinger (1878-1966), Franz Xaver Mayr (1875-1965) and Are Waerland (1876-1955), he founded a clinic for therapeutic fasting in 1958.
‘The criterion of life is metabolism’ was his motto, which he repeatedly emphasised in his lectures to patients. He compares an organism damaged by the consumption of stimulants, overeating and lack of exercise to a sooty oven in which the ‘flame of life is getting smaller and smaller’. That's why you have to clear the furnace of soot again and again - by fasting. At first there is a lot of dust and dirt, but when the oven is cleaned, it ‘draws’ again and the joy of life returns. This catchy visualisation was a kind of guide for generations of patients at Weckbecker's fasting clinic.
Today, Weckbecker's four-pillar concept correlates with the current recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO). Particularly in challenging times for physical and mental health, interdisciplinary therapeutic approaches are convincing with their holistic approach. For von Weckbecker, this has always included the aspect of ‘rest heals’ - which is more important today than ever.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLE
Patients are at the centre of everything we do
We endeavour to respond respectfully to individual needs and to provide the best possible professional and human care. Our patients come to us in times of acute physical, mental or emotional distress, for pre- and after-care or in the phase of repentance and contemplation, of reflection away from the normal rhythm of life. We support you in integrating the idea of therapeutic fasting and the associated inner reconsideration into your everyday life even after you have left the clinic. We provide reliable, competent and efficient help. We recognise the patient's physical, mental, emotional and social environment and tailor our treatment accordingly.
The satisfaction of our patients is at the centre of our work
The satisfaction of our patients and rehabilitants is at the centre of our daily work. We are able to achieve this goal thanks to the high level of expertise in all professional groups involved and the wide-ranging experience of our staff. Regular further training, as well as targeted further training and our implemented risk management ensure that we fulfil this claim.
Our employees characterise the success of our facility
With their skills and commitment, our employees play a decisive role in the success of our centre and every therapy. Our day-to-day work is characterised by respectful and open interaction and mutual appreciation. We approach problems in a solution-orientated and objective manner.
